In 2018 Typhoon Manghut alone destroyed more than 30,000 tonnes of trees in Hong Kong which went into landfill. While feeling painful as it is, it was contradicting to find that Hong Kong imported tonnes of timber boards and furniture from China and other countries for construction and interior use every year, while killing and dumping our own trees to landfill, 200 tonnes per day to count. Ricci Wong, Founder of HK Timberbank, will share the idea to save the local timbers felled due to weather or development, and his secret recipe to recreate and reroute the path of these natural resources brought back the spirit and memory of Hong Kongers.
